Education and Special Needs
Education is most effective and most enjoyable when it is fun. Highland Safaris have developed exciting and fun activities for school groups that link into the National Curriculum and use our natural world as an ideal environment in which to develop new skills, promote life-long learning and create a truly magical encounter with nature.
These activities are designed for nursery and primary school children of all ages and have two main elements:
Nature Activities
These are based at our Safari Lodge and feature hands-on Gold & Gem Panning, Red Deer Encounter, Wildlife Discovery Garden and Viewpoint Trail.
Forest Safari
Join a friendly Safari Ranger and climb aboard your Land Rover to get up close to nature and discover tracks, trails, views and clues.
These two activities can be enjoyed independently or as a combined learning activity and are complemented by workbooks (and answer sheets) based on the National Curriculum, developed by local teachers. We have three separate workbooks specifically designed for the following age groups. Nursery, Primary 1 - 4 and Primary 5 - 7.
Each workbook aims to develop appreciation, awareness, enthusiasm and responsibility for the natural world and will be emailed or posted to your school for printing or photocopying in advance of your visit.
